The U.S. for Success Coalition urges the Department of State to act swiftly and decisively to resolve the growing crisis of student visa delays.

The U.S. for Success Coalition, a multi-sector effort that aims to advance U.S. success by attracting and retaining talented international students, wrote to the Department of State to urge mmediately prioritization of visa appointments and processing for international students and scholars.

Attracting and retaining top international students helps America stay ahead in science, technology, and innovation, rather than losing talent to other countries. Moreover, state and local economies across America benefit from international students who spend on housing, food, transportation, and travel. During the 2023-2024 school year, international students contributed nearly $44 billion to the U.S. economy - and the impact goes far beyond higher education. For every three international students, one U.S. job is created and supported.
